Today's a bit of a mixed bag, but I'm actually quite happy overall!
Hi, all.
I just wanted to talk about some recent events along with one that happens every year this date.
For one, today would have been my dad's 77th birthday. He passed away 15 years ago this coming June 30th. Not a day goes by that I don't think about him. Sometimes, I see him in my dream. I had tweeted recently that I had seen him in one of my dreams. I woke up crying. I think with all that's going on in my life that he'd be proud of me and he would still accept me even though I came out as trans in 2019. And with my VTuber career taking off, I'd like to think he would be really proud of me right now.
Which brings me to recent events, which, fortunately are much happier to report. For one, I just had my first collab with three wonderful VTubers, KeikoKup, Seleneos of Kimochi Cafe and HoneyKub. This was borne out of a conversation I had with Keiko during her first-ever gaming stream (she normally has art streams, so go check her out!). The topic of Phasmophobia came up, where she mentioned that she had never played it multiplayer before. I wanted to give her this experience, so I set up the collab with a couple of others I have previously played the game with, "Kim" as we like to call her, along with her kouhai, HoneyKub. We had a really fun time, with Keiko really enjoying her first outing in a multiplayer environment. I can't wait until we have our next collab whatever the game!
That brings me to another thing that happened as a result of yesterday's stream. I finally crossed the finish line and am now a Twitch affiliate! *cheers*
When I started doing this gig, I knew it would be a lot of work. Once I realized what I needed to do, things have really taken off. I owe a debt of gratitude to Kim and HoneyKub as well as the community that surrounds them both for all the love and support I've received. I also appreciate the friendship that's growing between me and Keiko. That friendship got us to get this collab started! We must do something like this again!
While I am sad that Dad can't be here to see how far I've come in more ways than one, I'd like to think he'd be proud of what I've accomplished. And to all of you whom I've met thus far who've accompanied me through these earliest parts of my VTuber career, you just are just the best. I love you all! I'm over the moon right now, even though NASA's SLS only just recently had a green-run hot-fire test and SpaceX's Starship SN9 hasn't flown yet with the hope of a lack of a RUD at the end!
Much love,
--Katt. =^.^=
